Do you know what the terms fantasy world mean? And, if I asked you to name a few, could you do it? Probably yes. Nowadays, the fantasy genre is more present than ever in literature, specially amongst Young Adult Literature. This research paper takes a closer look at the development of the creative process of building a fantasy world. From the definition of the genre and its tendencies to the importance that the space setting can have for a story to be told, this research paper has the objective to analize the characteristics of fantasy worlds in Young Adult Literature. As a practical part, I have written a novel, Las Crónicas de Hyria: Colisión, settled in a fantasy world of my own invention.
